My number is on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) national Do Not Call registry.

Today, November 28, 2008, I received a call from this number - 305-408-6643.  My Caller ID displayed the word "Florida" and the telephone number.  The automated voice stated this was my last chance to renew my auto warranty.

EVERY TIME I receive an unwanted call I report it to the FTC using its online complaint format.  I provide the date, time of the call, what Caller ID displayed and the message if there was one on my voice mail.  I have decided to let the FTC know that people are tired of unwanted calls.

These companies/individuals know that most people will not complain to the FTC - that is what they are relying on.  Thus, they stay under the FTC's radar.

If more people would complain, the FTC will take action against these annoying callers.  The FTC does not act on one report alone.  It takes many reports before they will take action - but they DO take action if enough citizens complain.

I just got the same call as all of you. I said "what car?, you'll have to tell me. And he hung up. Sounded like the Nigerian scam man.
