Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. We have no jurisdiction in those country's. And the DNC actually does not apply to debt collections or IRS. The DNC itself isn't a call blocker and can not protect you from the illegal callers, extortion scammers, foreign country's and frauds. Criminals do not obey laws simply said.    They use spoofed numbers which make it hard to track them down.. it takes time to do this and many subpoenas for call records.

Call from this number at 2:15 PM CDT today. The male caller, with an unidentifiable accent, left a message he was calling from IRS about tax fraud and stated I (no name given) or my registered attorney must return the call immediately when I read (sic) the message or it would be on me. The caller then said it was an automated phone call.  The number locates to a land line in a residential area of Homestead, Florida.

I see several problems.
1.  The IRS does not make phone calls, they send letters. There is no way in a phone call they can be sure they are talking to the correct person.
2.  It was not addressed to a name.
3.  Automated phone call? Really!
4.  An IRS office in a South suburban area of Miami - almost in Everglades National Park?  In a residence?

I don't believe it! Has anyone else gotten a call like this?

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Thanks for your input.  I have call blocking built into my phone account. I only use it on repeated calls. I have reported scammers to the government in the past with no visible success. It is like throwing information into a bottomless black hole. One of the government agencies effectively said they don't do anything until there are actual damages. I am not going to use my money to make actual damages.

You are right. There is no point reporting these calls to the government. There is nothing they can do anyway. And, yes, I just got this call, too. Accent was a bit o' Irish, or perhaps Scottish.
