Wanted to lower credit card rate.  Did not identify.

Recorded message. Press 9 to receive a better interest on you credit card. Did not specify which card. Guessing all it will get you is a $20,000 phone bill.

Credit Card Scam..... Avoid!

Finally got tired of this call so I pressed "9."  The man asked if I had over $3,000 in credit card debt.  I asked where he was calling from and he said "card member services."  He again asked how much debt I had and I again asked him to ID his company before discussing anything with him.  I assumed if it was one of the legitimate companies I deal with he should know my balance or name....  His response was, "Mam' this is a call to reduce your interest rates, are you embarassed about your debt or are you JUST A DUMB [***]?"  Then he hung up on me without ever identifying a company.

that is because its a scam - they are not trying to reduce your interest rates they want to steal your identity or max out your credit cards.
