Got text from United federal union alert telling me card number on was deactivated. Please call this number 304-767-1637

Received the same text message saying card starting with XXXX has been DEACTIVATED.  Please call 304-767-1637.  This is the second one I have received from a different number in 24 hours.  What is going on here??

Its a scam.  If you call the number the scammer will ask you for your card number and the code number on the back of the card.  He will then use your card to spend your money.

If you are concerned about your card call the phone number on the back of the card or on your statement.

Received text message that states:

"WV UNITED FCU ALERT: Your CARD starting with 5141 has been DEACTlVATED. Please call 304-767-1637"

Do not call.  This is a scam! (Note: I do not have such a card, so the scammer must be sending random texts.)

They will ask for your card information (number, expiration date, code on back, etc.) Your bank has this information, so call your bank directly or the number on the back of your card if you're concerned.
