Someone just called me from that number too and said my computer had been hacked and he wanted to help me. He had my social security number and that was his proof that "bad things" were being done from my account. He wanted me to open a page while he was on the phone but I refused and asked him a lot of questions instead. He got exasperated and said he only wanted to help me (for fifty dollars, that is) He also said he was a technician from Microsoft. I insisted he sent me all the info in an email and he said he would, but no email so far and the only number I have to call back is 302-261-3786 which i am not calling.
These people all sound like the same person. They either have a free car to sell, or free money to give away (for a fee), and now solutions to computer hacking. Don't fall for these scams. People I now that have been hacked don't get a courtesy call to tell them they are aware of the hacking and offer a solution to the problem. For all I know they are the hackers. So irritating.
