There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

USA tax payers should read this:

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Says it is the IRS.  No information, but says "before IRS persues legal action against your name."  It literally says "your name".  I have had this number for maybe a month and have given it out to no one.  This sounds very much like a scam.

Claims to be the IRS calling, tho the vm is cut off at the beginning of the vm. Rec'd 2 calls/vm's today on my business phone, never mentioned who they are calling for. IRS NEVER calls taxpayers, I know that for a fact, this is a scam.......BEWARE!
