Robotic voice clamed to be from the IRS. Said this was the last attempt to contact me before filing criminal charges. Hmm. They didn't call me by name, nor did they give me the name of the contact person - just a number. Web searches show this to be a landline. I also know that if this were legit, they would have sent me a letter by mail. Smells awfully suspicous. They're on my call blocker list.

I got the same BS call today from the robotic voice saying this was my last chance before having to appear before a Federal Magistrate.  No name to call or who they were looking for.

Justin is spot on. However, this doesn't fall under the DNC. The DNC is for telemarketers, sales and services only. Debt Collections falls under the FDCPA laws as a rule.
