I love all the doped up fake comments. Believe me when I say that these scammers just turn the donations you give at the door into percocets and oxycontin. You can see it by how they write.
Too bad things are changing for them now.

This person called my number in error, inconveniencing me, and then cursed at ME.

Scammer claimed to be from the local fire department. Wanted a check/donation and wanted it made out to the actual fire department. No uniform and very quick to leave when we changed our minds when he actually showed up at house. Guy is up to no good.

A few people came up to me at a community event today and asked me about this number.  I actually am with the local fire department, and I can tell you definitively that we do not have anyone calling your home for donations.  If he calls you and asks for a donation for the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department, report it to the police.

The caller referred me to

http://iafflocal1664.org/index.cfm?Section=1

That website.

Seems legit but the man who called may not even be connected to the website. I'd appreciate if you find any more information.

This guy just called us again this evening - obviously no communication that we have said no 4 times in the past 2 weeks and have even turned down the "collector" at the door.

He claims to represent IAFF 1664 in Montgomery County. He gave me a legit website to look up but I'm assuming that anybody could just reference that website.

He wanted a check made out to the local FD again.

Again, I checked with the local FD and they have no record of anybody collecting.
