Called at 16:45 on a Monday. Caller ID reads: Bacliff
A male with an accent that I just can't place....Indian....Hispanic???
Lots of background noise as if it were a call center.
He asked to speak to (my legal name) by way of saying, "Are you (my legal name)?" That is odd in itself as everyone calls me by my nickname....even the bank. I asked, "Who wants to know?" He replied, "I need to know if I am speaking to (my legal name)." Still remaining calm I responded with, "I need to know who is calling." We did this acouple of times then he hung up and that was disappointing because he didn't have the opportunity to hear my educational spiel about phone ettiquette and the courtesy that legitimate businesses provide by identifying themselves when they call. Since I've seen this number on the caller ID before it is a fair probability that they will get a lecture in manners......hey, it's the least I can do to help. ;-)

Update.
Tried calling the number and got a recording that the 'number is disconnected or no longer in service'. This was about 30 minutes after they called me. They're probably bouncing their line off of switchbanks so who knows where they're calling from.
