This sounds familiar.
Threatening phone calls regarding a supposed very old debt that there is no way to verify, nasty demeanor, hollow threats about getting arrested and going to jail, actual yelling and outright insults when I refuse to send funds without proof of debt e.g. a bill. Demands that I settle now over the phone BY GIVING MY CURRENT BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION before the associated legal fees go up. Ask for a name and address of the company or a written statement, you get more yelling and statements that they don't have to send you or tell you anything because YOU are the one with the debt.
Ridiculous.
This number left an 800 number to call back on: 800-946-1002. Google it. More examples of the same type of abuse.
These people are either totally corrupt or extraordinarily bad at what they do. Either way, they wont see a dime from me until I have some written proof of an actual debt.
You don't have to put up with this treatment. I am reporting them to my state attorney generals office and the federal Fair Trade Commission as outlined in this brief federal website: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm
