"House buyers beware"!  I went to a nationally known website and wanted to look at at a piece of property.  Within two days after viewing the listing, I decided to make a phone call to the listing agency of the property.  The telephone number that is listed above, had the telephone company's recording.  This number is no longer in service.  I called it at least three times to make sure I had dialed it corretly myself.  Then I decided to ask the cities information what number did they have for the real estate agency.  I was promptly told that "there was no such listing I had given to them".

This is why I say "buyers beware".  If that wasn't bad enough I decided to do a "scan" on my computer and guess what,I had one of those "Troj" viruses show up!  It could not have come from anywhere else except from viewing real estate listings.  Fortunately, I was able to stop it before it did serious damage.  That is all that I had been doing for the last three days.  You figure it out.  If and when something does not "ring" right with you, act upon it.  Every corner you turn has a scam waiting to pass onto some poor sucker that thinks he is safe and can "trust" this person.  You cannot be too careful anymore.  Think you know "who or what your neighbor is?"  Think again!  Think you know who your best friend is think again!  Be very careful what you put out on the wire to speak of.  Wake up folks quit being "had" and speak up about it.  If you refuse to speak up about a bad situation then you yourself allow it to keep going on.  As you can see I care enough to speak up and be accounted for.  I hope you care too.  Don't be had like I was.  It's not a lot of fun and has caused serious questions about doing business with real estate companies.  The web sites you go to are no longer safe.  None of them are.  Make sure you know who you are dealing with.  If nothing else, have them checked out. This particular nationally known realtor web site returned a phone call stating that they have close to 5 million real estate listings and are not able to monitor all of the sites if they are active or not.  Left up to the real estate agency or broker for the company.  Just an fyi for everyone.  Just the same, be careful what web sites you go to.  It can be tricky.  They do not mean any harm, but all of them are busy.  Do your own research and check companies out.  Saves a lot of time and disappointment.  You cannot always know where a bad computer virus comes from and this might have been my situration.  I will never know.  I do not want to put a bad light on any company that has no known knowledge of it.  Unless they were notified of of a virus on their web site, they will not know, which simply means that they could be sending it out and not be aware of it from their end.  They mean to help and not hender you.  Just be careful on any web site.
