Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association".  Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty.  I asked them if they could send some info in writing.  Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail.  I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing.  Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.

Sounds like a scam to me.  Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!

I just got a call I think to be from this number.  It showed up as 2015 on my cell phone.  When I answered I could not understand what the person said to me before the call was disconnected.

Called several times. Don't leave messages. Hang up when I answer. Did not speak with a real person. Don't know who they are.

They have called my house twice today.  The first call they asked for me by my first name.  When I asked who was calling they hung up.  The second phone call I could hear people talking in the background and when I said hello they hung up.  I live in Kentucky.  Does anyone know why they are calling or is there anything we can do about it?

After several calls, they finally talked. Apparently they are one of the scum companies that solicit 'for' the Texas DPS (State Troopers).  Go ahead and ask them if your donation is tax-deductible OR ask them what percent actually makes it to the donation they are calling for.

They wordd their calls so you think they are actually FROM the organization they are collecting for, but sneakingly use the word FOR so as to keep it legal.
