Called several times. They hang up when I answer. I am blocking them. They are reported by others as unsafe.

Oftentimes, the numbers that call you with no one there on the other end when you answer, are merely robocalls to verify that your number is a legit phone number. Presumably even a voicemail pick up will verify this even if you don't actually answer. Once the number has been verified as legit, as an actual number, it is worth more when it is sold on to telemarketers etc.
