Never vote for anything by sending a text message. Apparently that gives them permission to sell your cell phone number to spammers. I think it was the Pepsi Vote people who did it to me, because they're the first place in almost a year I text-voted at and this and a dozen other started flooding my phone after.
Message received was:
"Looking for a Cash Loan? Apply for up To $1500*!!
Visit: AMERICA40.COM
2end reply Stop"
If you go to their website, there is a link "Why did I get a text message?" that states:
"Text messages are only sent to people that have enrolled in the text message program at www.CashSearchFinder.com or through a CashSearchFinder.com partner where you agreed to the privacy policy and terms of service which includes opting into the text message program."
Typically, anything that is obviously an unsolicited, illegal scam, that has a way for you to reply to allegedly get removed from their list, this instead is a way for them to confirm that they got a real number so they can continue to spam you and sell to other spammers.
