i have recieved the same calls.  it had me so scared that i was crying.  so this number is a con artist.

This man mid eastern (indian) man tells me I owe $ 832.00 for a loan I took on line with cash USA he stated if I did not write a letter stating that I authorize them to take the $ 832.00 out of my checking account. Legal actions will be taken against me. He (Eric Thompson) has my email address, my cell, and my social security number.  He said I will be picked up by the sherrif's and law enforcement at my job and I will be arrested.  This man has several numbers 1-253-243-2506, 1-253-243-2506 from money USA and Rob Brown.

yeah I got a call at my job today claiming to be Officer James Robinson stating that I have official business that I need to take care of before further action is taken. I asked to mail or fax a detailed letter or stement concerning the matter and he declined. Somehow I think these people hacked into aome database with names of people who either have a history of bad credit or debt and pulled our names, Phone numbers and any other info they could find, however I dont think they have our physical addresses, Damn Internet nothing is protected, everyone just be careful and get a program like Lifelock or something to help protect against fraud!

I received a call today from Officer James Robinson and he said the same thing.  I have been hit by these indian scammers already and fighting mad.  I was told that I took out a payday loan that was paid back but still owed 2 payments?  HUH!!???  I started asking them a bunch of questions and they couldn't or refused to answer stating go to their website and I can get all the information.  The account they said the loan was deposited into didn't even exist at the time they say the deposit was made and the references were all made up names.  Do not pay these guys anything...call the FBI, FTC, local police and protect yourself.

I have received similar phone calls from 253-243-2592. An Indian accent claiming to be Officer Chris Williams with the law offices of Cyber Crime Unit claiming to have multiple law suits against me, and reading off the last four digits of my social security number. They have called me on my cell and my work number. I have told them twice that my work phone is a business line and not to call again. Today, I called the number back from my cell. "Alex" answered. He started rattling off his speech about how I was going to be arrested, etc. He said, "I am calling you to inform you.." I cut him off and said " I called YOU to inform YOU that you are in severe violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. He said, "This no longer matters to me" or something a long those lines, and quickly hung up.
