I jsut received a call from this number and have before. Figured it was a scam. Came up with caller ID of  V211181338001922. Looks like the other day it had a caller ID of V029191158001922.

This is a call from American Veterans Support Foundation, located in Maryland. They are listed among the worst charities to support, because very, very little of your dollar actually goes to support vets -- most goes in the pocket of the calling service. A man with a deep voice informs you, quite officially, that the call will be recorded. Since when does a charity need to record the call? Seems like a bit of intimidation, similar to those calls by "charities" trying to raise money for police and fire departments (also not legit.) Don't give them any money. They are allowed to call folks on the DNC list, because they are listed as a charity, so you really can't get rid of them easily. Don't pick up.

This is a SCAM call. Do not fall for it or anyone that calls you claiming to be from these generic veteran charities.
It you want to help vets in need go to your local VA office, volunteer your time, donate to the Wounded Warriors, etc.

Don't ever give money to these crooks.
