My brother is a military contractor in Afghanistan, and this is the caller ID that shows up when the military call from overseas. This is a legit call.

Why would a military afganistan call show up from Maryland???

Numbers are based out of Washington DC i guess. I don't know how they route them, but it's the government. And to protect the soldiers' safety, they're not going to make the calls easy to trace over there.
