My husband keeps having this number call him on his cell phone and giving him a case number and asking him to call them back. Why would the census bureau call a cell phone?  We haven't gotten anything in the mail to fill out, and if we do, we won't fill it out.  Pure invasion of privacy.  Is their any way we can block their number?

Call my house weekly. Usually no one leaves a message. Today I picked up. They asked for my mother. Who has never lived here also had her old last me. Asked if I knew who this person is and they were calling for a confidential reason. When I told them not to call this # anymore they hung up.

I, too, receive calls from this number on almost a daily basis. I also received the mailings with a myriad of questions about my personal life WHICH IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS and which further states that I am required "by law" to complete and return the form(s). Interestingly enough, there is no "Reply by" date. I find that more than suspicious. I have no intention of NOT replying, but it probably won't be until after the next census is done in 2020. And no, I don't answer the phone when they call.

telemarketers pretending to be with the US government.  Spammers, do not give them any information.  They are also making fake posts on these boards to throw people off about them.  The US government would only call from an "888" number -ONLY and your caller id would list as"US Census".  Any thing else is a lie!
