OFFICER WILKENS ASK TO CALL  240 -390-2901 WITHIN 48 HOURS OR WILL BE PROSECUTED

It seems that it is a recorded message, since the text is word by word as written above by esca, however the message started before my voice mail started recording, so I have it starting from "legal issue we have  on your name..."

I received phone call yesterday from number 240-3453612 and today 240- 3902901 and I know that it's a scam, why? Las year we got an email from our Accountant that he is on vacation in Europe and he got rob. His passport, money , etc.... Was gone and he can only sand an email. My husband ask me to send $ 2000.00 on the address he provide  but me instead to sand the money, I call American Embassy in that country asking if this person contact them. I know that he has close family then he will ask them for help not his client. We call him few times till he respond telling us that somebody hacked his email.

Received several messages from John Hamilton (or similar names) - he has a heavy Indian accent and is very nasty if you call back and speak to him. He told me on the second call that the matter would be handled by law enforcement because my wife did not call within 48 hours - I could either send her to the county sheriff's office or they would send police to our house (which I opted for knowing that it's a joke) - they would be there within 4 minutes. Of course, no one showed up, and when I called back, it was him pretending to be a sex line operator (a female) with laughter in the background. Quite a waste of time - if anyone gets suckered into giving them money, they have no one to blame but themselves. I feel bad for foreigners and the elderly if they are vulnerable enough to fall for the scam. The IRS, as far as I know, will send a letter if there is a problem, and they do not involve local law enforcement in their debt collecting endeavors.

Has called me a million times and I finally called back and told the scammer to stop calling me. He insisted that I am a criminal and I'm going to jail and he said I couldn't talk to him that way on a recorded phone call. I told that crook not to call me anymore and he better not be recording my calls.
