I got the same call. Their pronunciation of common English words tipped me that this is a scam. IRS mails notices, not phone calls!

Said that the call was being recorded and the their were legal actions being taken and that this involved homeland security.  Yes very thick heavy accent at 7:18 in the morning.

My mother got the same call today; robotic voice message said it was the IRS and they are filing a claim against her and to call 240-345-9091, but we didn't call as we suspect it is a scam.

got the same call - in Alaska.  IRS would send a letter, they can't answer their regular calls.  Besides, they use 800 numbers. Definitely a scam.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
