Automated message that's made to sound a lot like a real person.  You answer hello, then again hello and you get back "Hello, this is Scott how are you today?"  It tries to understand what you say and respond like a person but it's still a bit fake.  It'll stop talking if you start and after you finish there is a pause and it responds.  I decided to test it.  I said "Scott if you are a real person say watermellon."  It paused for a second and said, "Ha, Ha, actually I'm calling today to ... and I hung up. In a few years I bet we will not be able to tell if we're talking to a machine or person.

Answered call, no response, so hung up......

I received the 3rd call in less than a week from MOSAIC ALARM with the same number appearing on my CallerID: 240-318-1544 (240 area code is western Maryland and number appears to be a cell number, not a landline.  The first 2 calls there was no on the other end.  Today I waited a good 10 seconds (figuring they were using a robo-dialer) and a "Scott" came on the line asking how I doing today. Without answering I advised him that 1. I'm on the DNC List; and 2. I report each and every call from them to the FTC DNC Complaint Center after which I hung up.

I got my first 240-318-1544 around 6:00 pm tonight and no one was at the other end of the line.  caller I.D. says it's from Clinton, Md.  I, too, am on the DNC list, but that doesn't seem to be enough.  Usually I don't answer numbers I don't recognize unless I am waiting on important calls and don't know where the caller will be located or listed on a cell phone.
