Thanks for the link 'phone hobbyist' which seems to be defined clearly as a room full of telemarketers.
And telemarketers means Trouble with a capital T'.
Most often scammers trying to sell something I didn't order or don't want.

Often there are new words that are made up to soften the blow of another word that people associate with something they don't like. So should we define all 'phone hobbyists' as telemarketers - probably not. Since most telemarketers are actually trying to make a living and are not making random calls to stranger for a hobby.

We also don't dial phones anymore, yet we still use the word. And most people understand the meaning of 'dial' when referring to
the telephone. :)
