Have had several calls for the above number, however, I let my answering service take care of such off the wall calls. If it is someone I know then the ring is set for a difference tone, other wise, it is considered a SCAME Call. The answering system then put that number on a list, for me to look at when ever I have the time to do so. Then I can either put the number on THE WHITE LIST (for numbers that I know) or THE BLACK LIST (for numbers that are either DUMB OR SCAME DEALS). Everyone should by one of these gadgets.....it's a lot of fun. I now have about 200 numbers block and those numbers can never call my phone again. The telephone company only allows you to block ten numbers, when that is full, any number not on the telephone company block list can call as many times as they want to.

I do have fun with this little gadget.

CID said Vet Benefits. Lady said she was calling on behalf of VFW. They were asking for donations to buy items to put in boxes to send to soldiers in Afghanistan, etc. and wanted a check made out to them and "For Deposit Only" written on the back. Then I was to put it in an envelope, tape it to my door and it would be picked up by someone. Boy did they call the wrong number (mine)! In my earlier life I worked with many veterans organizations and know they do not operate this way. I told the woman calling I would be happy to donate if they would send me something in the mail and I would mail back my donation. She said they didn't work that way and for me to have a nice day and hung up. This is absolutely a SCAM!!

If you contacted the organization directly they would ensure you that they do opporate there fund raiding programs in this manner.

This is absolutely not a scam. The company, Landmark Productions Corporation has been in business for many years and has raised thousands of dollars for several veterans organizations, including the VFW and AMVETS. This can be verified as they are registered with the Attorney's Office in several states where the fundraisers are being conducted.

Received call from above number similar to reports for funds to send boxes to soldiers in Afghanistan. At the mention of this I told him no, that I do that through my church. But am aware that they are no longer allowing shipments of boxes containing these items to troops anywhere from my Social Ministries work and military contacts in Northern VA.
