Total scammer, I looked at an apartment listing on craigslist. Emailed, and this guy named Karl replied saying that hes in west africa. He said he owns the apartment and his wife is in US to take care of it. Apartment is in california but his wife is in maryland. He said he will mail me keys and documents to be signed, he called me and i asked him a few simple questions about the apartment and he knew nothing. i went to the apartment complex and it had no parking at all, but this guy said theres a parking garage. I asked which street the apartment faces, made up two random street names, and he answered with one of them.

Agree with above - same circumstances only names John Collins (in West Africa - delightfulhomes@gmail.com), wife Mary (in Maryland - mrycollins@gmail.com) and one email was signed as Sara, though it was supposed to be from Mary. Told them I was going to take a look and needed the unit number and that seemed to end our correspondence.  Reported to Craigslist, too.  Beware!

I know him,his real name is Jeff Bruce

Yeah this is the number this guy provided via email for him to be contacted to rent an apartment in Laguna Beach, Ca (1401 S Coast Hwy Laguna Beach, CA 92651) Then said that I could email his wife who's in Texas who can't hear right on the phone and is in a wheelchair and they'd mail me the keys and rental forms for the apartment AFTER I sent them the deposit. None of the crap they were telling me added up. So I couldn't get a contact within the states but I'm supposed to Western Union money to them and call that number to speak to someone and just hope I get the money? Yeah right.

Found the Apartment's Ad. Mr Collins said he was in West Africa on a "Crusade"... his wife Mary answered:
