You are misinformed.  The DNC applies to all telemarketers, regardless of what their area code.

These are "spoofed" phone numbers.  Basically, made up and tagged with names of real businesses and sometimes real people, who have no idea they're being used.  They're  impossible to track, and the so-called Federal Gov't Do Not Call list won't stop "spoofed" numbers.  We're stuck with them.  Education is the best policy.  Just keep blocking them.  I know its a feat in itself, but for now, we have no choice.

we were having a horrible time with unwanted calls, called the phone company ( century link ) and they suggested we use our free option of no solicitation with our plan. It plays a recording to all callers that we don't want solicitors and requests to be taken off the list, callers may dial 1 to continue to call us or hold and it will ring through. So far it has worked great and we have had only 1 call make it through and I will add that # to my block list which is also with our plan . I can only block 25 #s so this helped a lot. Hope this gives some relief to others.

Go to do not call and file a claim! This works! I have sent multiple claims and the calls stop. You need the number that called, how it showed on your ID, the number it called (yours), the time of day and date.You don't even have to put in your name. I have done as many as 3 a day.

Same thing happened.  I've tried pressing "3" as instructed to get off their list, but they just keep calling.  When you actually try to get someone, you get disconnected.  Not sure how they can scam people when they  never pick up the phone.  Going on my "do not accept list".
