hang up call

Two rings and a hang up. No message.

As soon as I picked up they hung up.

I never answer out of area code numbers because they are usually crap and not business related.  If it is legit they will leave a detailed message and I then return their call.

However, on these calls that people say hang up on them, I suspect that those are the old fashion fax machine dial-up waiting for the ping and when the ping doesn't happen the machine hangs up.

Got this as a missed call on my cell phone after 8 PM.  Would not have answered even if I heard the ring.  I don't answer numbers I don't know.
