There have been more than 27,000 reports of this scam over the last 5 or 6 years, on this web site only!  They seem to have escalated since the first of the years because more and more people are on to them.  Fewer people are answering unknown numbers.   Please let other folks know to avoid this scam, along with anything else, like back brace, solar energy, Fraternal Police, etc.  Before you answer phone, if you don't know who is calling, let is go.  There are a whole lot of people wanting to separate us from our money, all over the world.

Claim to be from the IRS.  This scam has been happenng a lot recently- to the point that it was featured in our local paper.  The IRS will NEVER call without first sending multiple snail mail warnings.  Report this here: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Got the same call to my Georgia cell phone number which I did not answer since it was not recognized.  Left automated message that I was being sued by the IRS.

They just called me to on my cell .. And they kept demanding payment .. Also they said I had a warrant out for my arrest .. How did u find out it was a scam ??

Also just got called from this number - they left a message telling me to call back which I did. Indian man picked up first - he told me it was the IRS which I thought was weird so I hung up.  Then I called back again and Indian woman answered.  She said, "Thank you for calling the Internal Revenue Service, can you please provide me with the last 4 digits of your social to pull up your case."  I told her I knew that I knew that this was a scam and that I was reporting them to the IRS and then she hung up on me..  Don't waste your time like I did, this is clearly a scam..

automated message that I was being sued by the IRS. Called back and they asked for my phone number. I thought that I was odd and then asked which company it was and the woman hung up. SCAM!
