I get calls from this company "TMC" a lot. I usually hang when I get the dead air but this time I decided to wait, after about 30 sec. a girl came on and asked for me by name, when I told her to remove me from their call list and that I have no connections with your company and I am on a Federal Do Not Call list and you are illegally calling me, if you don't stop I will report you to the Atty. General. Her reply was I don't care who you report me to because it will not affect my pay check and I can't remove you from our call list and she hung up.  

What can I do? To report to the Atty. Gen. takes a lot of time and effort...it's not easy for the consumer.

I tried calling the TMC company that someone posted on a similar site:

But the receptionist said the 219 # was not affiliated with them.. she also said they get several calls a day related to the 219 number.

And based on a search of area codes (see link below or use a phone book), I'm inclined to believe her since 219 area code is for CT & the TMC number is area code 203 which is Gary, IN.

I filed a complaint via the federal DoNotCall.gov website.

Every time I've tried calling the 219-230-3807 # back, I get a fax machine.

Tried to fax a 'do not call' note to 219-230-3807, but apparently my VoIP line doesn't handle my computer's FaxModem properly, just gets various errors.

A hang-up.  No answer to call back

Could be a machine designed to just find out what times of the day you answer your phone. Then whoever owns the machine goes to their telemarketing customers and says here is a list of phone numbers with the time of day you are most likely to get live body on the other end.

just a thought...

Many calls daily, day and night. No answer, no message, just dead air until they disconnect.
