i got the same call. i did not pick up until the sixth time, only because it said Washington D.C.. But the call back number was area code 219?? i looked it up and here i am. Problem is they knew my name and address already which i verified. I did not give bank information. She had a foreign voice, which was hard to understand because she was yelling and talking fast.This is a shame they prey on people like this.

Received a phone call from 219-224-3949 today, 07/08/14. I was told that I had been "chosen" to receive a "ONCE IN A LIFETIME GOVERNMENT GRANT'" for $7,500.00..All I had to do was go to a Western Union, Wal-Mart or anyplace that handles money transfers, get a "green.moneypak",provide a security deposit of $270.00 and I would receive the said amount on the spot within 10-15 minutes.. Sounds way to good to be true, and the couple people I talked to were foreign and very hard to understand.. I was also told that the offer could be placed on hold for 2 days while I thought about it and came up with the money....Scam or Not???..would like to hear some opinions, sure could use seven and a half grand!

yes this is a SCAM THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING AND I SENT THEM 200 DOLLARS OF MY RENT .THEN SPOKE WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND GAVE THEM MY BANK INFO. AND NEW ADDRESS AND DATE OF BIRTH .THE LADY CALLED BACK HR. LATER AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO COME UP WITH 500 DOLLARS FOR TAXES .BECAUSE THE MONEY WONT TRANSFER FROM STATE TO STATE IN LESS I PAID TAXES FIRST.I TOLD HER I DIDNT HAVE 500.DOLLARS AND THAT THEY WOULDNT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK IT WASNT REFUNDABLE. AND TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT AS A LOST AND HUNG UP THE PHONE IN MY FACE.AND NOW IM HAVEN TO GO THRU A LOT OF RED TAPE TO GET MY IDENITY BACK. WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT SENT THEM ANY THING. THESE PEOPLE HAVE RUIND MYB LIFE AND CREDIT I CANT EVEN AFORD TO PAY MY RENT BECAUSE THEY TOOK 200 DOLLARS OF MY RENT MONEY. DONT DO IT THEY ARE PROFESSINAL SCAM ARTIST.WHO ARE PRAYING ON DESPERATE PEOPLE.

NOW I NO .IM SO UPSET WITH MY SELF IM IN TEARS I SENT THEM TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS OF MY RENT MONEY NOW I AM A SINGLE PARENT OF TWO AND I CANT AFORD TO PAY MY RENT THEY SENT ME THE EVITION NOTICE. SO HURT AND MAD AS HELL PLEASE PRAY FOR ME.THEY EVEN GOT MY BANK INFO.SO UPSET IN TEARS!!! GOD HELP ! HURT BEYOND MEASURES!!!
