I've been getting periodic calls over the past two weeks from 215 numbers. I live in LA. The numbers are not always the same. I suspect it's a collection agency, but I don't know for sure, because I never answer calls from unknown numbers.

I've been getting calls from 215 numbers as well.  I answered the call today out of curiosity and the person on the other line said, "My name is jonathan.  I'm a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania calling to update alumni records."  He had my former last name - what it was when I went to Penn.  I didn't give him any info, just said I had recently updated my records online and then he hung up...

mystery solved.  i called the university of pennsylvania and it turns out that the calls are legitimate and they do have students calling alumni.  they won't start leaving messages until june, and the number is not something that you can dial into.  the three numbers that came from them are:

One gets periodic calls from U Penn, usually as part of their fund-raiding efforts. I do not answer because I prefer to donate through their web site.
