If a debt collector is on the level, he wouldn't need log on here to file obvious false reports about his wonderfulness.

They call and leave msgs saying that they are calling from the "pa dept of revenue".  When I call them back they are actually calling for a university to which I have attended and owe on my account.  I have told them that I will not pay the bill until I am readmitted for classes.  The funny part is that when you send a payment on the account to the university, it goes to the university, not the state.  They use misleading excuses to get you to pay.

When my employer ran my credit report for hire, they submitted a fictitious number (same PBX, but a dummy extension), because they've already dealt with floods of calls from previous employees laid off and unable to catch up on their bills.   Alliance One is one of the companies that caused my employer to change their main number.  The extension that shows up on the credit reports goes to an empty voicemail box and they don't even get to browse through the corporate directory anymore looking for employees phone numbers.

I used to get harassed over an old Sprint bill that was for severing my contract 1 day before it expired for my cell phone.  I refused to pay it because Sprint's customer service was so bad and they refused a 100% refund for my broken handset which was under an extended warranty--so I canceled Sprint.

Now when Alliance One calls, they get my fax machine.   I have the fax set to not beep--so I don't even know when I get a call on my landline.  My cell has never rung from a bill collector calling in 5 years! :)

These clowns at alliance one have been calling me for 3 months.
I do not know the person they are looking for, I do not know where the person lives,,,I don t know this guy.
How do I get these people to get my number off that collection sheet before they sell it to another agency?
Any suggestions.
Anybody from alliance one on this board,,,please be aware that you people are  making life miserable for people that have no debts. This has to be illegal. I am writing to the FTC and then contacting an atty to get this harrassment stopped.   I do not know this person. Stop,,,delete the phone number,,,its not me.
