Called my house phone 3 or 4 times. When I finally did answer, they didn't respond

Didn't recognize the number, so I let it go to my answering machine. They didn't leave a message. I dialed back the number and a message stated, "The number you have dialed is not in service. Please check the number and try again. Goodbye."
