As more companies choose to cold call potential customers, the annoyance may be taken seriously.  How about restaurants calling on Fridays asking if you would order a pizza?  Barbers calling to make you an appointment for a haircut.  I prefer to do the calling and contacting.  Companies calling me is crossing a personal boundary and is offensive.
