They won't send you a debt validation letter because they don't want anyone to know where they are physically located.  In other words they don't want anyone to have a concrete address that people can use to complaint to the proper authorities.  But of course, in this case that's meaningless since they are a registered New York LLC and have an address--

DIRECT RECOVERY SERVICES, LLC
255 LIVINGSTON STREET
4TH FLOOR
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, 11217

Report them:

Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them.

Just received a call from this number.  Someone giving her name as Emily.  No identification, no office name, nothing.
Just that if I did not respond immediately, this situation would be rescinded - what exactly is that supposed to mean?
What situation, what problem, etc.? are they talking about.  Such a scam!!!
