Got a call from this number they wanted my bank account number but I told them to send me a check.  They gave me a confirmation and their name and ask that I call them back.  I did call back but they did not ask for any other information except for my name. I was very careful not to give out any information because I did not trust them

This number claims to be the U.S. Government Grant Department and tells you that you have been chosen to receive USD 7000.00, but prior to do that, they ask you to go to Western Union or Moneygram to donate USD 99.00. Then, you need to call them back and give them the confirmation number.  You can tell is a fraud, because the ones behind the lines are hindu.

got same call here today 4/14 /10  calling from Govt give me $7000 grant and said calling from DC with California area code with thick accents of Hindu. his name was Alex Cooper, I told him he was a fraud and he said what are you going to do call the FBI, ?and yes I did, they said this is happening all over and report it to the goverment...What a world we live in!!!!! any more calls from them?

I received the same phone call...person representing himself as an employee of the United States Federal Grant Department in Washington DC which an extremely heavy foreign accent.  He was calling to offer me a $7000 grant.  He said I was one out of 15,500 people in the United States who was chosen to receive the grant because I pay my taxes, have not filed bankruptcy, and don't have a criminal record.  He gave me a grant approval #, and he told me he would be calling me tomorrow.  I asked for his phone # -- he gave (213) 985-3301 as a call back number, which is a Los Angeles, CA phone #.  He wanted me to give him my account information to which I replied -- if I truly were chosen to receive a grant from the US government, I would have received an official letter in the mail.  He says, "oh, you want to receive the information by mail -- okay".  After a few more questions, he told me that he had to go because the department was closing for the day but that he would call me tomorrow.  Good luck, PAL!!!

I recieved the exact same call today. EXACT.
