Call stating that they wanted my banking information to deposit $7,000 from a government grant, that I have been chosen to receive. They ask me for my Cheking acct or debit account. I told him that every time the Gov send money, they send it by mail and if they have my info, send it by mail and they told me that it wasnt posible.
Also, told them that it was the fist time in my life the the Gov calls a saturday when every single office of the Gov closes Fridays at 5:00pm.
I also heard they call people that has bad credit and a lot of people have felt for it because they need the money.

Hopefully, the US Government is aware of this scam and that they are working to put these criminals in jail.

They won't do anything unless they are made aware of it.  But how do we make the public aware of it?

rec'd a call from this number man stating that his name was Edward Johnson - but spoke very difficult English.  Stated that I had qualified for a 7,849.00 government grant that I did not have to pay back and that he would deposit this to a credit card of which he wanted the number and the 3 digits on the back of the card.  I asked several times what his company was called and how he got my number.  He said I was chosend because I don't have a tax liability and that I have filed my taxes on time each year.  1500 people were selected to receive the money.  I told him I was at work and that he could call back at a later time.  I asked if him to send a check - and that if this truly was a government issued grant then the proper paper work would be needed and that he could send a government check for this.  He kept asking for my credit card number to place a deposit to my credit card.  I told him that I had never had a deposit made to a credit card.  Yikes!!
