I would like to know if there is an officer named Julie Smith working at IRS who respond at this phone number .
I reproduce exactly a strange message that I have received  today. I do not think it came from an officer. I don't like nither tone , nor the threat of this message. I do not know much English, but in my opinion, any person who wrote the following message does not excel in this regard. :<<you've got a new voicemail from (213)928-7949. Transcript:  HYeah, I need you. Your your retained attorney of record to return the call. Yeah issue at hand is extremly time sensitive. Yeah, I am officer. Julie Smith from internal revenue service. Yeah and your hot line to my division is 213928. Yeah 7949 Yeah I repeat.,yeah, it's (213)928-7949 yo this regard. This message and do return the call before we take any action against you.Yeah by and take care. Sender:+18572441027>> Febr 12,2015, 01:08:33 pm

I'm surprised you haven't heard about the IRS scam. You have now!

The IRS does not call you unless you have initiated a call to them. These are scam calls coming out of India and Pakistan for the most part.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
