I received a call from this number claiming to be a newspaper where I recently placed a classified ad.  She claimed the ad payment had not gone through and that she needed my debit card information to reprocess the payment.  I later checked and found this number to be a Sprint cell phone in Los Angeles.  I transferred all the money out of the account that had been compromised but she had already put through a $1056 purchase on the account at Barneys fashions in NYC.

This is definitely a scam.  Received a call under the same circumstances as described above, someone posing as an employee of the LA Times.  She must have access to the website information used to post classified ads, but not the actual credit card numbers.  When I refused to provide my card number over the phone, she hung up.
