This number was left on my machine for me to call back, although it didn't match up with what was on my caller I.D. The female used my name and it was very clear, but the rest of the message was hard to understand because of a heavy accent. I listened to it several times, but still have no idea what it is all about.
The number on the caller I.D. is 818-916-8880 which showed up as a cell phone in California.

That is the same phone number for a company on amazon.com called Outlet .  I just placed an order 2 days ago and I was googling there phone number to find there location when I found your post.  Here is a Link to the Outlet Storefront on amazon.

The only thing I can think of for them calling is maybe someone in your family placed an order through amazon with Outlet.  If not and there is something shady going on please post it so I and others are aware of there actions.

I receive a call from 818 916 8880 and they left a return number of 213 629 5555.

The caller is from Amazon's outlet store.( I do not know Amazon have how many out let store.) They inform me that I ordered some hard disk and they are suppose to ship it to an address different from the billing address.  I did not place this order. So I ask them to stop the order. Thanks outlet store for their effort.

I call Amazon try to tell them this problem. I told Amazon someone is using my credit card to purchase stuff from Amazon. They ask me for my Amazon account, and they cannot find this order under my account,of cause they will not find it under my account because I did not order it, then the rep says he cannot help me because that order is placed under someone else 's account. For security reasons they cannot tell me anything about that other account even thought I have Amazon's order number. What kind of logic is this ?

Then I call my credit card company. Their logic is straight forward. They go on a conference call with an Amazon service rep. Ask the Amazon's service rep, did I put those charges on the credit card from my Amazon account. The service rep says no. The service rep from credit card company says, then these charges are fraud. He go ahead and take those charges off my credit card. Big thumbs up for the credit card company and the outlet store. Thumbs down for Amazon.
