I have received numerous crank calls from this number. No voice behind the call and no messages left.

I always get calls from this number and there is never a response when I say hello. In fact I don't even answer when I see it on Caller ID. Is there some scam auto-dialier going on, collecting 'live' numbers from 'dead' numbers?

ok to people who dont know this , telemarketing companies now have machines that call you and wait to see if you will answere if you dont it calls back till you do and when you do it will call back till you answere it 3 times , this now tells the main computer of a telemarketing agency what times you are home , it then adds your # to the list of #s to call at what ever time it finds that you are home , if someone calls and you answere and they say nothing , start pushing random #s quickly on your phone , this then tells the machine that called you that it has reached a fax machine and then automaticaly (yup you got it) removes your # from the list. another thing i like doing is when a telemarketer calls , simply tell them to hold on a sec for what ever reason and set the phone down till it start beeping , rather than the telemarketer wasting your time , you just wasted his.

Got the call last night, left no message,,getting annoying. What satisfaction do they get from this????
