Answered a call from this number back in June 2012 and after a pause, someone connected.
They said that they were colling on behalf of Global Business.
I can't remember if they asked for a specific name or if it was just generic.
I did ask to be removed from their calling list at that time.
I started keeping track of incoming phone numbers (especially non local area codes)
I did not receive any other calls from this number until December 20, 2012.
Then it was pretty well every day. I did try answering a good number of them but it was always dead air then a disconnect.
I tried calling the number back a couple of times (long distance to California) and got a recorded message to "please hold for the next representative" but does not identify the company name.
I didn't want to use up my LD minutes so I hung up after a minute or so.
This number called me today, January 11, 2013 @ 2:20 PM and I answered and there was someone on the other end.
He asked to speak to me by name.
I asked who was calling and after a pause, he identified himself as James from GTA Advertising.
(I do have a business in Toronto Canada and the surrounding area is known as the GTA [Greater Toronto Area], but why would this call be coming from California USA?)
I asked for a call back number so the person he wants to speak to can call him back, but he said that there is no call back number and he will call again later.
I immediately told him not to call back and put him on speaker phone and started recording.
I told him I was recording the call and said "This is an official request for GTA Advertising, or what ever entity that is using the call back number of 1-213-430-5317 on January 11, 2013 @ 2:20 PM, to remove the number 416-xxx-xxxx from their call list."
I asked him if he understood and after a short pause he said that he will add the number to their Do Not Call list (probably better known as the new list for harassing calls coming from a new number).
I will post again when this number calls again.
