I received this phone call yesterday 9/26/16, They left a message saying that this womans name was Hedda Gray with the IRS. THey wanted a phone call back as soon as possible either from my attorney or myself...it was of the utmost importance and was time sensitive, not to avoid or ignore the call...that we owed money to the IRS. I knew right away that it was bogus, just because of the amaturish way they recorded it..you could tell it was computer generated...the irs does not do calls like that...and she didnt leave her id number...another red flag...the irs also doesnot contact you by phone for important issues if they are legitimate...they contact you by certified letter. And last but not least...we dont owe the irs anything...we file our taxes on time every year...SO ignore this number people...and report it...Im sure they are out there scamming old people...and naive people...
