Same here, 2-3 times a day. I call back from another phn, and same thing, silence! Very weird.

Asked for whoever handled our AT&T acct., when I said they weren't there they hung up

asked to be connected with the person who handles the AT&T account. I told her I could connect her if she provided me with the last four digit of the account number to verify. she hung up.
