Someone put my number as a reference without my permission and now I am receiving annoying calls for this law firm daily. I have advised the caller each time to remove my number from their call log but they continue to call and harrass me at work.

Nobody put you as a reference.  We have received calls from this number also (as have many others).  They are scammers, trying to get personal information out of you.  Tell them NOTHING!!  If you can, block their number.  I reported them to the authorities already, but still keep getting the calls.

I received a call from this number too. Its fishing for personal information.

Just got a call from this number this morning. A pre-recorded voice something along the lines of "You have been charged with 2 counts of check fraud. Please call the office at [some number said too fast] and reference affidavit 8824."
Note that they never said what type of business this was, just "the office". The number was said before I could even react with a pen and paper and doesn't match the number on my caller ID, so I don't think it's a very effective scam.

Wow, I got the the EXACT same message 2 hours ago.  I mean EXACT same message. I couldn't write down the number because I couldn't hear it.
