I didn't know who it was but they claimed to be verizon.
Told me to hold to talk to a representative after confirming that I am the owner of the account.
I thought it might be a scam but actually ended up being verizon.
I knew because they told me details about my account a scammer wouldn't.
I  also did not give any information away because I was wary at first.
