The YPOnline is now using the numbers 866-496-6804, fax: 866-223-8170. They have been trying to get $500.00 from our company. They claim that we authorized subscripton, yet cannot provide proof, they are using the fact that we "cancelled" renewal as admission to service. We are going to contact the FTC and anyone else. ANy suggestions on who to report them to??

This phone number is associated with Globe Trade Control (it is a fax number). We receive many unsolicited phone calls at work and this seems to be just one more company fishing for in formation. I have not looked much at the website associated with the fax as I'm sure its rubbish. It offers to update our EXISTING data (I checked there is none). It offers a performance based score and also signs you up for a 97 Euro per year listing on their page. (According to the fax we are at 97% however on the page we are a sad three stars...) Just more wasted toner/paper on this end...

In general these companies calling to update your existing information are just trying to rope you into a scam. I went through the gamut with a “yellow book” representative, updated all the information and was then told it would be x amount of dollars a month to keep the internet listing accurate. I did not authorize the transaction and they still call several times a week to “update”.

It's not 97 per year - it's a monthly registration fee of 97 per month for a minimumof 2 years, so a grand total of E2,328.  I just received one of their faxes - can't wait to sign up :).

Same as above---watch out for  "theyponline" "yponline" "direct usa online"  check your better business bureau listings, and search the web for posts like this one. since "globe trade control" is not listed on the bbb.org.  what's bogus is that you have 3 different fax numbers coming from 315.329.6021 (NY) 212.898.1249 (NY) and then 44.207.9002519 (UK).  The website is bogus - and our request ??? made in 2009 and our address is 5+ years old.

They can not even put us on the right continent or right type of business on their requested update sheet.  The individual they list as the company contact has not worked here since December of 1984 and it is now June of 2010 if they were interested in keeping up to date that would have been changed long time ago.  voice phone they have listed for us is not our number and not even close to our number (wrong area code, wrong exchange and wrong number)  Address is not listed, year business started is not listed number of emplyees is over 199,965 over the number of employeess were ever in the company. We also have a very low employee turn over rate and they have our yearly employee turover rate as 500,395.  I have worked at the company 4 years and in that time we have had 1 person retire after 35 years with the company and 1 person leave for other reasons.  Therefore this has to be a SCAM!
