I got a call this morning from this number, asking if I could confirm that I signed up for the New York Post.  The weird thing is the girl on the other end used my full name.  I may report this if she calls back again, as a lot of these posts make the phone number sound suspicious.

These calls from New York Post are authentic. These are to validate in fact that you subscribed. In my case, it was because I submitted it through a third-party and my credit card is involved.

This number has called me nearly every day for over a two months.  They never leave a message.  This is my father's phone, he is elderly and frail so because I pay his bills and collect his mail I know that he doesn't owe any money to anyone, has no credit cards.  Sometimes I can hear several people talking, so I am assuming it is a collection call center.  The only information I have is that several offices of NCO collection agency have called for a woman who does not now, and has never lived here, I am assuming it is related to her.  If this was valid, they would send mail, they do not.  I have sent certified letters to this effect to NCO at various offices -- they continue to call.  I am quite sure this "New York" 1-212-801-0036 is calling for her.  When I call the number back, it says "The Nextel number you are trying to reach is not in service" so this is obviously Caller ID Spoofing.  I have reported the number to every agency that would take a report, however I keep getting told that none get involved with individual cases, so that's the story.

this # has been calling me on-and-off now for about 2 months as well.  My # is out of Florida.  Same situation, calls, no one on the other line.
