Did not give a company name but mentioned we had a problem with windows software bot. I asked him how he knew this info and he could not answer.   I realised it was a scam immediately, he then asked if he could log on to my computer and i asked why, what makes you think i have a computer. I asked where he got my phone number and what company he was calling from and he could not answer. I kept asking him questions until he got frustrated.  I then told him to take the number he called off his calling list and he banged down the phone.  It's clearly a scam

Windows fraud/scam. Don't give them any information.

They call me every 2 weeks. It's a Microsoft phone scam!

Windows fraud/scam.  Called ridiculously early in the AM, too.  

Called my parents at 8:00 am on Sunday.   My mother hung up.  They called back.  My father answered and a man with an Indian accent told him he was calling from Microsoft and there was a problem with their computer. My father told him they didn't have a computer but the guy said he knew they did.  My dad said their computer was fine and to quit calling and the guy responded with "[***] you,  [***] your mother."
