I received a call from this number on June 25, 2007, at 2:06 p.m. (EDT). The person (heavy East Indian accent) started the conversation by telling me that he was following-up on a conversation I had had with him last week.
I told him I didn't recall having a conversation with him last week, but he went on to tell me that I had been selected to save money on my mortgage.
He asked if I was the home owner. I told him I was.
He wanted to know the rate I was paying on my mortgage. He seemed a bit surprized when I told him it was 75% (It really isn't). He asked me twice if it was really 75%, and I assured him it was.
He wanted to know the amount of my mortgage, and I told him it was $475,000. He then asked the value of my property, and I told him it was $490,000.
He then said I had no equity in my property, and I corrected him and said "No, I have $20,000". He then corrected ME, and told me I had $15,000. (These guys are at leaswt good at arithmetic!)
He wanted to know if I had declared bankruptcy. I haven't, but I told him that I had declared bankruptcy just two years ago, and that that was why I was paying such a high interest rate.
He told me that there wasn't any way he could help me. I asked him if that meant he wouldn't call me again.
He accused me of joking with him about my mortgage rate (Imagine that!), and I asked him again if he would or would not call me again.
I figure if these guys are going to call me, I'll take as much of THEIR time as I can -- goof with them as much as I can.
