3:17pm 23 june 2012 received a call from 212-000-0005. No message. 212 is a Manhattan area code. By the way for 50 bucks you can purchase a 212 area code for your cell phone according to a google ad. I'm from TN and don't know anyone from Manhattan.

Ditto, Tennessee, 23rd of June, 2012.  I never answer calls unless I recognize the number.  I only have a few friends and family and I also have a "distinct dial" on my phone which has a different number and different number of rings for family.  There is a number from Memphis that used to call a lot and I'll bet they are the same ones doing this.  If people who try to get money by criminal means would use their ingenuity to work legitimately, it would be nice.  Next time they call someone should yell 'GET A REAL JOB'  I might add that every now and then I get a call on my distinct ring number so now I have to check before I answer.  I think these are robo calls and I don't answer of course.

Called this AM at 11.23 from 212-000-0005..."Financial Services" from some guy in India, obviously, wanting to "Lower de Eenterest on my Credeet Card..." Told him I wanted off his call list, NEVER call back, & he said he wouldn't, but then tried to go on w/his spiel...Who ARE these people ?  I'm in Tennessee, too...For some reason, they obviously enjoy picking on us...Grrrrr...

I'm in TN as well. I keep getting calls from New York numbers & also Western TN numbers with names of people I do not know. None will leave a message.
